Jenelle Evans says the tumultuous relationship she has with her mother Barbara may be due to Barb being jealous of her.
Over the weekend, the fired Teen Mom star hopped on TikTok Live to answer questions, many of which seemed to be centered around her mom and her eldest son Jace (whom, as The Ashley previously told you, is now living with Barbara in North Carolina after Jenelle sent him there for leaking text messages that exposed her in a very unflattering light.)
In her response to questions regarding how she and her mom are getting along these days, Jenelle claimed that Babs’ attitude is one of the reasons they don’t have a good relationship.
“Do I have a relationship with my mom? It’s every other day. Some days are good, some days are bad. I just wish her attitude would change. And it doesn’t,” Jenelle said.
She then claimed that Barbara is jealous of her, which is why she allegedly has a bad attitude.
“I think it might be a jealousy problem on her part,” Jenelle said of her mom. “I don’t know. It’s like, when I went to New York City, my mom was like— it seemed like she was jealous that I took my kids to New York City. Like, she wasn’t in the spotlight, which she always acts like.
“You guys don’t see it. You guys don’t know her personally. But one day I’ll open up,” Jenelle said before stating there’s a “documentary” that she’s making that she “will open up” in.
She also claimed she would “open up a lot more” about Barb in her upcoming podcast.
“Like, have really personally deep conversations,” Jenelle said. “About my life, what I’ve been through, assumptions you guys have, squashing them. Squashing rumors…”
This is actually not the first time that Jenelle has accused her mom of being “jealous” of her. In 2022, Jenelle claimed in a video posted to social media that Barbara actually “took” Jace from her when he was a baby due to her being jealous of her dating Kieffer Delp at the time.
No, seriously…
At the time, Jenelle was discussing the infamous ‘Teen Mom 2′ scene in which Barb told Jenelle during an early episode that she would be “livin’ in the streets with her boooooyfriend.”
“Honestly, me seeing that scene over and over again honestly hurts,” she said in 2022. “Like, someone took my baby, didn’t let me get a chance to raise my baby and then kicks me out, takes my baby because she was jealous of the guy I was dating at the time [Kieffer Delp].
(It’s probably safe to assume she means Barbara was jealous of the time Jenelle was spending with her then-boyfriend Kieffer, rather than Barb being jealous that Jenelle was humping Kieffer, but Jenelle wasn’t clear on what she meant.)
“Let’s look at the real reason I was even kicked out [of my mom’s house] and all my stuff was outside in the middle of the yard,” she continued. “I don’t know, me as a parent, I would never do that to my kids.”
In 2019— during her and ex David Eason‘s fight to regain custody of the kids they had temporary lost during a CPS case— Jenelle stated in an interview that Barb is jealous of her.
“I believe my mom is saying anything at this point to make herself feel better,” Jenelle said, adding. “It might all boil down to jealousy.”

She is so delusional it’s not even funny anymore. There seems to be nothing that will knock sense into this girl, nor would she listen to sense if she heard it. Most people learn from their mistakes, grow up eventually, and then there is Jenelle lol. Deflect deflect deflect. How do you get to where you are in life and not recognize if you are the common denominator, you are likely the problem.
Goodness she just needs to learn to shut up. I think she just truly doesn’t know how to cope without the drama.
But it sure is entertaining. Gee Delujenelle, maybe your mom doesn’t understand why you do so many fun things for and with the youngest two, even though we all know it’s just for show, and just leave Jace out of everything?
I’m so sick of the “my baby was taken from me” line. You refused to get your life together so you could support Jace without your mom. It was easier for you to sign over custody. And you don’t even want to deal with him as a teen so why does it matter that as a baby he was “taken from you”?
Good grief! Barb had, and has again, custody of her grandson because his mother was more interested in partying, doing drugs and chasing men. And, no one in the world envies her relationship with anyone of her and her many soulmates or off again/on again BFFs. How deluded does someone have to be to think people want to live in a dumpster fire in the middle of a tornado.
“Like, someone took my baby (You didnt care for your baby. You were going out and partying when your uterus wasn’t even fully retracted back. You came and went as you pleased.), didn’t let me get a chance to raise my baby (how can you raise your baby when you’re never sober and never around?) and then kicks me out (you were on drugs and, quite frankly, disruptive to the entire household), takes my baby (You signed custody over so you could party) because she was jealous of the guy I was dating at the time [Kieffer Delp] (a homeless, broke, gambling heroin addict was no sweet catch, kiddo).
Its amazing how much Janelle can twist the narrative. Just like the episode where Babs suggests going to AA/NA and Janelle replies, “12 steps isnt my fantasy, mom”……raising a baby at 57 years old wasn’t Barbara’s fantasy either.

No Jenelle, instead you’d sit by and watch your kids be abused and drag them through one adverse childhood event to another. She has no accountability, and doesn’t see the irony in her blaming her mother for everything while dramatically and flagrantly messing up her kids life at the same time.

Jealous of what exactly? Jenelle is a 35 year old woman that has never had a job, has no marketable skills and spends thousands on a rental while the house she owns and is still making monthly payments on sits abandoned and rotting. She’s twice divorced, has 3 kids by 3 deadbeat losers, has had her children removed by CPS and has been under investigation by CPS too many times to count. She has no friends except the ones she pays to do a crappy job on her hair and makeup. She’s such a wretched human being, she’s destroyed every friendship she’s ever had. She’s blown millions of dollars on nothing worthwhile and now sells pictures of herself online to sad people that spend their hard earned money to see an overweight, dead eyed woman naked. And, she wants people to believe her mother is jealous of this.
Once again, she says she’s finally going to tell everyone these deep, dark secrets that will exonerate her from being a horrid loser. She’s been saying this ever since she showed up on our TVs.
She’s shipped Jace off to other people multiple times, she shipped off Kaiser to his dad’s Mums until she copped backlash and went and got him. Only one she hasn’t shipped off is Ensley, but think thats probably because she has no where to send her
