Last month, Darrell posted several alarming posts to Facebook, claiming that he was being cyber-bullied by specific people whom he named in a post. In two posts in March, Darrell even let his friends and family know that “if anything happens” to him, it was these two specific people who would be behind it.

“Well people here is my cyber bully stalker just letting people know if anything happens to me this [is] him,” Darrell wrote, before naming two people he claimed had made social media accounts to impersonate and harass him. Darrell claimed one of the people had “extorted money from many people in this town acting like a handyman” for three years.

In another post to Facebook in March, Darrell again wrote about the two specific people he claims were impersonating him and harassing him.

“I’m extremely sorry and sick over this, Darrell wrote on March 9. “These people have ruined me and he said he would please understand it is not me. People are showing up to my work and wanting to harm me. The police are aware of this but [their] hands are tied because Facebook allows this and it is very bad.

“If something happens to me it was [name redacted by The Ashley] and his wife,” Darrell added.

On Wednesday, A&E statement was posted to the official ‘Storage Wars’ Facebook page.

“We are saddened by the passing of a beloved member of our Storage Wars family, Darrell ‘The Gambler’ Sheets. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”

Darrell is survived by his son, Brandon Sheets— who appeared on ‘Storage Wars’— and a granddaughter.

UPDATE! The Lake Havasu Police Department released a statement to TMZ, informing the public that officers are aware of the online claims Darrell made before his death.

“We are aware of these cyberbullying accusations and that is a part of the active investigation,” the LHPD said in the statement.

UPDATE 2: Rene Nezhoda— who also starred on the show with Darrell — also took to social media to talk about Darrell’s passing.

Darrell and Rene on ‘Storage Wars’ Season 5…

“Unfortunately, Darrell Sheets took his own life,” he said in a video posted on Wednesday to X. “So he passed away. I know a lot of you guys think we hated each other because we competed a lot on the show. And, you know, we had our moments, we had our run-ins. But that’s because we were both competitors, right? We were both competitors with the biggest threat out there. But deep down, me and Darrell were friends. We talked every now and then.

“He was a very hard worker that cared more— probably more than anyone I’ve ever met— about their family,” Rene stated.

Rene also brought up Darrell’s cyberbully.

“He had a guy really, really tormenting him lately from cyberbullying,” he said. “Guys, just because you watch us on television, doesn’t mean you know us. It doesn’t mean you know what we’re about. Also, it doesn’t entitle you to bully somebody. That’s not just us, that’s any athlete, that’s anybody. You shouldn’t cyberbully at all.”

Rene encouraged fans to act if they see someone they know cyberbullying.

“Slap ’em in the back of the head,” he said. “Make them become a better human being. Because you never know what demons somebody faces, and what they go through, and what you may push them through.”

Rene also called out law enforcement to investigate Darrell’s death.

“Darrell has been posting a lot about the guy who’s been cyberbullying him and tormenting him,” he said. “And I really hope that [law enforcement] looks into that guy and it’s not just a pass because it’s just not right, guys. Be better.”

Brandi Passante, who starred on ‘Storage Wars’ with Darrell, has posted a tribute to her co-star.

“I’m at a loss for words!” she wrote on Instagram. “I’ve known Darrell Sheets for many years, I’m just so very sorry to hear the circumstances of his passing. My heart hurts for Brandon, Zoe and Kimber. I unfortunately lost a parent and a brother to similar situations. I would like to stay to everyone, if you are struggling, if you feel hopeless or like no one cares, please reach out for help.

“You are not taking your pain away, you are transferring it to someone else,” she continued. “The grief from suicide is endless. There is always help. You can dial 988 on your phone to connect with a counselor or resources. Never suffer in silence.”

  1. R.I.P Darrell thoughts are with your family at this sad time.

Hopefully the police will do something about the bullies cause imo they caused your death and should be up on manslaughter charges.

    1. Wow. Are you the bully he was talking about?! Sure seems like it… Why on earth would you say something like this?!

  2. Darryl has always been my favorite on this show. I’m so sad it had to come to this! People are just evil! RIP buddy and prayers go out to your family and friends ❤️🥰

  3. If anyone is dealing with, or has loved ones dealing with suicidal ideation and depression, ketamine is a game changer. I use it for spinal issues, but it helps alleviate depression , which ive also struggled with, in a way no SSRI, SNRI, or Wellbutrin etc works. It lasts for months, at the dose and infusions i get. For psychiatric use i think you just get a oill which is simpler. I would cry a lot while under its effects, but afterwards would feel better.

Ive lost friends to suicide, the worst was a cluster of three at once the girl on of my rwo hs best friends then her boyfriend and a week later his best friend, and on the off chance it helps one person ill keep posting this. EMDR for PTSD/CPTSD also.

  4. Very sad, people can be so cruel. Remember whether you’re religious or not, the universe sees all and karma is unforgiving

  5. Awww, man. I wasn’t his biggest fan, but this is not okay. 🙁 These crimes aren’t taken seriously and don’t have many laws around them. Sending love to his family. It was obvious on the show how much he loved them.
