After months of bizarre behavior, unhinged TikTok videos and suspicion of a relapse, Amanda Conner was arrested on Sunday and charged with DUI, child abuse/neglect and more!
Amanda— who is the wife of “Teen Mom” star Ryan Edwards— was arrested in the early morning hours of Sunday near her home in Tennessee, and posed for a crazy looking mugshot. However, the story of how she allegedly got behind bars is even crazier!
As ‘Teen Mom’ fans are aware, Amanda and Ryan are both in recovery for drug addiction. The couple met while they were both at a court-ordered rehab and went on to start a relationship. Not long after, Amanda got pregnant with their daughter Presley and the couple got married as soon as Ryan’s divorce from his first wife Mackenzie was finalized.
Despite her bizarre online behavior (as well as causing a car accident in which she received criminal charges for earlier this year), Amanda has maintained that she is sober. Even after she was fired from her job at a drug rehab facility for refusing to submit to the required drug tests, Amanda continued to state that she was sober.
On Sunday, though, everything changed. According to 911 dispatch call recording, Ryan called 911 on Amanda to report that she had driven off with their baby Presley in the car, when he confronted her and attempted to get her to take a drug test.
“[He] believes she is under the influence of narcotics, believes this because she refused to take a drug test,” the dispatcher told officers heading to the scene.
The dispatcher explained that, according to Ryan, he left the house to go to the Walgreens around 2 a.m. to buy a drug test for Amanda to take. While he was gone, Amanda allegedly put Presley into her car and drove off. Ryan told dispatchers that he was initially able to track Amanda via her phone location, but she eventually turned it off.
“Also be advised, [Amanda] has been awake for two days,” the dispatcher told the officer.

Eventually, Amanda turned her location back on and officers were able to meet up with her. She was arrested and charged with a slew of serious offenses– one of which is a felony– which The Ashley will break down here for you.
Child Abuse/Neglect
This is the most-serious charge Amanda is facing, as it is the only felony-level offense she’s been charged with as of press time. She received this charge because she had Presley in the car when she was arrested for DUI. In Tennessee, exposing a child to imminent danger (such as driving under the influence) can constitute abuse. These laws were expanded in 2025 and made harsher.
“A parent or custodian of a child eight (8) years of age or less commits child endangerment who knowingly exposes such child to or knowingly fails to protect such child from abuse or neglect resulting in physical injury or imminent danger to the child,” the law states.
The 2025 law changes expanded what constitutes “child abuse” to include placing a child in danger in by having them in an impaired vehicle.
Implied Consent Law (Drivers)
This basically means that Amanda refused to submit to a breathalyzer, blood or fluid test when asked to do so by the officer. By driving in the state of Tennessee, you are automatically agreeing to submit to a chemical test to determine blood alcohol level (or drug screening) if a police officer has a probable cause to arrest you for driving under the influence. If Amanda refused to do so, she violated Tennessee’s Implied Consent Law. This is a misdemeanor.
As of January 1, 2026, anyone who refuses to take the test will have their driver’s license suspended for 18 months on the first offense. (So it’s safe to say that Amanda will not be posting unhinged TikTok videos filmed while driving any time soon…)
Obviously, Amanda was charged with this because officers believed she was under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol when they caught up to her. (The Ashley is working to find out what substance(s) they believed she was using.)
This is a misdemeanor charge.
Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic (Violation):
This basically means Amanda was seen allegedly making unsafe lane changes. This is a misdemeanor offense.
Once she was finally wrangled and taken to jail, Mrs. Ryan Edwards delivered one hell of a mugshot.
According to court records obtained by The Ashley, Amanda’s four charges have been assigned to—wait for it— Judge Gary Starnes, the same judge who gave Ryan chance after chance in his own legal cases around 2023-2024.
Her court date is scheduled for June 3.
As The Ashley previously told you, Amanda is currently on probation for a car accident she caused in February that caused bodily injury. The mom of two was cited for the alleged crime but not arrested. She went on to guilty to Failure to Yield Right of Way (Bodily Injury). While the judge sentenced Amanda to 30 days in the county workhouse, her sentence was suspended on “good behavior” and she only received probation. It is likely that probation will be revoked due to these new charges.
UPDATE! Amanda has been released from jail. She had previously been held on a $10,000 bond. It appears, though that her bond at release was $16,000. One of the conditions for her release is that she wear an ankle monitor. She is also forbidden to have contact with her daughter, Presley (who was her alleged victim of the child abuse/neglect charge), presumably at least until her June 3 court date.

I guess you folks got what you wanted, Amanda relapsed in a messy way. I bet Ryan is still clean and California sober though. Also, she refused to take a breathalyzer or blood draw. She may be able to beat this case with a good lawyer.

Nobody *wanted* this, we just all knew it was coming based on her behavior and mentality regarding sobriety.
So, with what you wrote… that Amanda relapsed, refused testing, and might skate by with a good lawyer, you’re basically excusing a grown adult addict who put a child in danger.
And dragging Ryan’s sobriety into it doesn’t make her choices any less reckless. It just makes your point look even weaker.
If the goal was to get people riled up because you think she might “get off,” it’s not working. It just shows you’re minimizing what she actually did.
Every AMERICAN is entitled to quality council. People in this country beat DUI’s every day. I hope she gets her case dismissed just to watch ya’ll reactions. You sanctimonious “recovering Karen’s” think you are better than Amanda and Ryan.
Anyone who chooses not to harm their children is already a largely better person than these two. They have both put their children in harm’s way numerous times.

Um, recovering addict here. Just FYI Accountability- IN RECOVERY and SOBRIETY- Is paramount. So, IF she is in fact high/drunk/whatever, and she beats this “just to watch our reactions” they would be doing her, her child and the general public a huge disservice. In no way would I want someone NOT using to get in trouble for a DUI, but my guess is she WAS high/drunk so she needs to be held accountable. Just as I would say about myself if I relapsed…
Just because they don’t have blood or a result from a breathalyzer doesn’t mean she can beat it. Sounds like with her driving and her behavior at the arrest will be enough to convict her. Addiction recovery isnt a straight road, the relapse isnt as unexpected as how badly she has relapsed, lied and degenerated souickly into her using behaviors again.
That may mean she didn’t actually grow in sobriety was white knuckling it. Did she ever really accept she was powerless over drugs, did she start thinking about how that addiction twisted her and the bad things she did and how to make reparations. Was she hanging with sober friends, staying away from old haunts?
Maybe she got all those things handed to her too quickly and never really grew.

It’s not really parent blaming, as much as it’s pointing out the obvious. They’ve said they enabled him, we watched/read them doing so. They helped contribute to who and what he is today.
Is it their fault he’s an addict and makes terrible life choices? No, but they certainly contributed to that behavior and even made it easier for him to do so. Still, he’s a grown ass adult at this point. He makes his own choices.

Just because one partner is using drugs, doesn’t mean their both using drugs. Stop assuming things! Ryan could’ve been in denial that she was using again until now and finally opened his eyes. He called 911, he most likely wouldn’t have if he was also using.
You’re right but in this case- I believe it’s different. He has struggled with addiction for over a decade. There’s a much HIGHER chance of relapse for a NEWLY recovering addict when their partner relapses.
He could’ve absolutely been using and yet not been as erratic as her. He could’ve been using and still be aware that Amanda was unsafe and put their daughter in immediate danger due to her lack of sleep + drug use and called 911.
As my comment said- his looks have drastically changed and there have been other behavioral changes in the last two years, including none of his other 3 kids coming around for months- that have made people think he has relapsed. People can have their own opinions. Most people, including myself, have been rooting for their success in sobriety. Hopefully, you’re right and he has remained sober.

His looks from two years ago, when he was really clean, to now have drastically changed. His eyes are sunken in- face looks gaunt. He looks like he’s on a stimulate- not opiates.
We all know she’s been acting like she’s on meth for a long time- ( she’s lost a lot of weight, etc etc etc etc .)

Mackenzie and Maci, I believe, have known something was up for a while … hence Maci never comes around anymore, neither does Bentley, and Mack’s two kids are no longer allowed over there even after a judge ordered they could be. 😬

Jumping into a relationship, highly publicized at that, and then getting pregnant- not even a year after she first got sober was very risky. Postpartum is no joke (not sure if she had that thought). That’s why it’s very highly recommended/encouraged to stay single at least the first year of sobriety— as we all know. Hindsight is 20/20 though.
Praying for them- esp all the innocent kids involved- including her precious son that she just got custody of 1.5 years ago.
Thank God Presley wasn’t injured or anyone else for that matter.
They both have been drinking alcohol 🍸 since becoming clean. In a TT a couple of weeks ago with her getting called out for her behavior she said she drank 2 bottles of wine before bed and had one drink that morning. For hair of the dog.

For Ryan to make the call, means this must be very serious. And yeah, finding out that she took your baby out of bed in the middle of the night to drive off while impaired is terrifying. What’s even more terrifying is that Ryan is apparently the stable parent.
I wonder if her son can go back to his grandma since she’s the one who raised him for most of his life. He shouldn’t be in Amanda’s custody.

Amanda hasn’t been sober for more than a day, at most, since leaving rehab. She’s been denying it, but she wasn’t even sober while pregnant. It’s obvious to the world that she isn’t fit to have children even around her.
I feel horrible for her son who damn well knows his mom is a junkie who cares more about drugs and alcohol than him. He’s always known this. Presley is just too little to know it… yet.
If she wasn’t sober during pregnancy they would have taken Presley and she had a bunch of court dates leading up to getting her son back. So while not her biggest fan. She was sober for a bit.

Im aware there are harm reduction strategies, outside of the standard sobriety model -thats the one im most familiar with, but i don’t think alcohol can fit into the harm reduction model either.
I am a recovering addict/alcoholic and with weed- it’s “California sober” and I don’t personally consider it sober. Healthcare systems only consider you sober if you are not drinking or using mind altering substances- Suboxone, subutex, methadone WHILE in recovery, taking exactly as prescribed, or vivitrol WHILE in recovery… you can also have Caffeine and nicotine but I quit smoking too and gave up energy drinks. Anyway- that is it! You are not sober otherwise. IN my opinion AND experience, alcohol is the worst of them all. They honestly should have never drank. They know better- they make it VERY clear in rehabs/Outpatient programs that you should not drink and cannot drink to be considered sober.
This is so sad for the children that it’s hard to even snark. Jen will finally get a girl to raise and hopefully it turns out better for Presley.

This won’t be the first, or last, arrest. Rhine’s going to give her another chance and she will go to rehab with little repercussions due to the Edwards’ ties to the NC court system. Let’s hope that Mimi and Larry insist that the baby stays with them for the time being.
